Emergency & Risk Policy

Effective Date: March 2025

At Med Travel India, the safety and well-being of our clients are of utmost importance. This Emergency & Risk Policy outlines our approach to handling emergencies, mitigating risks, and ensuring a safe and secure medical travel experience for all our clients.

1. Purpose and Scope

This policy establishes clear guidelines for handling emergencies, managing risks, and providing support during unforeseen circumstances for clients travelling for medical treatment. It applies to all clients, employees, and partner hospitals affiliated with Med Travel India.

2. Risk Assessment & Prevention Measures

We proactively identify and assess potential risks associated with medical travel, including but not limited to:

  • Medical Complications – Ensuring hospitals have emergency response teams and ICU facilities.

  • Travel Risks – Providing information on safe travel routes, visa regulations, and insurance coverage.

  • Legal Risks – Educating clients on medical procedures, consent requirements, and liability disclaimers.

  • Health & Safety Protocols – Collaborating with accredited hospitals that meet international patient care and hygiene standards.

3. Emergency Response Plan

We have a structured emergency response plan to assist clients in crisis situations:

3.1. Medical Emergencies

  • Partner hospitals must have 24/7 emergency medical services and critical care units.

  • Clients are encouraged to share pre-existing medical conditions before travel.

  • In case of complications, emergency medical intervention is prioritised with the treating hospital.

3.2. Travel-Related Emergencies

  • Clients are advised to purchase travel insurance covering medical emergencies, flight cancellations, and evacuation services.

  • Our support team provides assistance with lost travel documents, airline issues, and visa-related problems.

  • In cases of political unrest or natural disasters, we coordinate with local authorities for evacuation support.

3.3. Communication During Emergencies

  • Clients will receive emergency contact details before travel.

  • Our support team is available 24/7 for urgent inquiries and immediate assistance.

  • Hospitals must notify Med Travel India of any medical emergencies involving our clients.

4. Responsibilities of Med Travel India

  • Vet and partner only with internationally accredited hospitals.

  • Provide clients with comprehensive pre-travel guidance, including risk mitigation strategies.

  • Maintain open communication channels with hospitals and local authorities for emergency coordination.

5. Responsibilities of Clients
